It’s air dry season. ILIA and Crown Affair have teamed up to create a limited edition of the luxury haircare brand’s signature hair towel—in ILIA’s signature blush pink.

Reduce frizz and breakage, and speed up dry time with The Pink Towel. Strands are extra vulnerable when wet, and traditional terry towels are too harsh. The microfiber waffle knit material gently absorbs moisture, leading to less frizz as you continue your air dry. Designed in a patented shape with secure elastic to hold hair of all lengths and textures, it’s smaller than a traditional bath towel and comfortable to wear for as long as you’d like.

  • For straight or wavy hair—flip your hair forward and place the elastic band at the nape of your neck. Wrap the towel around your hair, squeeze gently to blot, wrap, and twist. Place the tail inside the elastic strap to secure it in place.
  • For curly hair—use the same technique as above or use The Towel as a wrap for plopping to reduce frizz and keep curl pattern intact.
  • For coiled hair—use The Towel to blot moisture from your hair. Then, depending on your styling ritual, use The Towel for as long as needed to retain moisture in your hair for post-wash styling.
  • General care instructions—wash on cold and dry on low heat. Do not bleach if The Towel gets stained. If stained, mix a bit of stain remover with water and soak The Towel or apply directly to the stains and then wash. Do not hang the towel by the elastic band, the weight will cause the elastic band to stretch.

    Plastic plastic plastic

    First of all the marketing is deceptive because they say it’s a clean brand but the entire towel is made of artificial fibers.

    Second, these artificial fibers are the cause for twp frizziness not the solution…

For our collaboration with Crown Affair, they chose a microfiber blend because the ultra-fine fibers are able to absorb excess water quickly while minimizing friction on wet hair. This is something traditional natural fibers like cotton aren’t able to do in the same way.

    The goal with this design is to help reduce frizz and breakage while also speeding up drying time.

    Plastic towel from a clean brand?

    I’m disappointed and confused. I’ve been using ilia for almost a decade and now this is making me reconsider if I can trust this brand.

    For our collaboration with Crown Affair, a microfiber blend was intentionally selected because its ultra-fine fibers help absorb excess water quickly while reducing friction on wet hair. This is something traditional materials like cotton do not achieve in quite the same way.

    I’m so disappointed, I got so excited when I saw this hair towel, but it’s made of plastic. You’re a clean brand and should only use natural fibers in your products/partnerships.
