Position Summary We are currently seeking a seasoned Executive Director of Education to join our Sales team. The Director of Education and Training is a leadership role responsible for the development and refinement of ILIA education and training programs with the objective to develop talent, share the brand’s messaging and facilitate the achievement of Sales Goals. This position works cross-functionally to support the brand’s philosophy on clean beauty via creating written content and delivering directly to the sales team + marketing and elevated customer-facing events. The position reports to the SVP of Sales overseeing Global Markets with a dotted line into Marketing.  This person is responsible for content, programming, delivering material, teaching knowledge of the brand, product positioning, and selling tips to sales representatives of ILIA Beauty.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop Programs that align with corporate objectives to develop talent and drive sales along all consumer touch points. (Brand / Product knowledge, selling skills, professional techniques, event themes and service standards)

  • Interpret and articulate the founder’s philosophy about clean beauty and have the ability to provide meaningful direction for launches and overall business needs.

  • Produce and present Education and Strategy presentations for Sales and Marketing programs globally.

  • Assist in providing creative approaches to define content and direction for core, seasonal, and new launches.

  • Identify trends in artistry, clean beauty, art, fashion, and social and incorporate into selling tools.

  • Develop and design innovative selling workshops with an emphasis on clean beauty, artistry in the ILIA manner, and brand philosophies.

  • Communicate in a manner that advances ILIA authority as the leader in Clean Beauty; either through the sales team or direct to consumer or retail facing events.

  • Coordinate efforts between Sales, Marketing, Product Development teams to create relative content and materials that will inspire and motivate the selling team.

  • Work with Sales globally to maintain market needs and program implementation. Define best practices, assess skill set, elicit field feedback.

  • Model ideal standard of presentation with each program execution.

  • Establish a certification program for all ILIA sales representatives; courses and criteria.

  • Work with Sales and Marketing to uncover and deliver assets to meet market needs and achieve sales targets.

  • Develop strong relationships with retailer partners, brand leaders, and cross-functional teams including Product development, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Social teams.

  • Travel to work directly with Field Executives to train and develop the teams.

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education and years of experience.

  • 7+ years of retail experience necessary – particularly in Beauty.

  • Demonstrated success of building winning partnerships with Sales leadership and retailers.

  • Exceptional communication skills (presentation/written).

  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities and excels in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to adjust communication style to provide information and direction.

  • Be an independent problem solver and excel in an environment without extensive resources and with high ambiguity.

  • Ability to travel to global markets and domestically on a frequent basis.

  • Comfortable in front of an audience, video, and social channels.

  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects. Equally strategic and creative.

  • Superior attention to detail, highly organized.

  • Experience in adult learning techniques, consumer shopping habits and generational styles.
