In line with that vision, ILIA is looking for a Product Development Coordinator to join the product development team in bringing high quality, innovative, clean and sustainable beauty products to life. This is an “in person” role located in Laguna Beach, CA, reporting into the Senior Manager of Product Development.
Role & Responsibilities:
Work with the VP and Senior Manager of Product Development to bring the founder’s vision of formula and packaging to life
Coordinate the day-to-day product development operations including but not limited to: setting up vendor presentations, ordering competitive products, maintaining product library and project closets, maintaining trackers and initial set up of product briefs and all other project and function support as directed by supervisor and management
Maintain upkeep of standards, and lab submissions. Reviewing pre-production batches, pre-shipment batches, drawdowns and range-boards for all product approvals
Maintain key relationships with contract manufacturers, conducting onsite development when necessary
Assist with managing clinical and consumer claims and all testing related to product launches
Work closely with cross-functional team members to coordinate product needs
Coordinate lab samples/comps and finished goods for retailer meetings, photography, PR, etc.
Help manage project timelines and track progress for product development
Prepare pricing and competitive analysis for new product launches
Conduct market research, track key trends, new launches and general competitive environment
Participate in brainstorm meetings for new product concepts
Attend trade shows and vendor presentations as needed
Ability to travel domestically and abroad for product development purposes
Qualifications:
2+ years of cosmetics product development experience required
Passionate for the beauty industry
Ability to work in a fast moving, fast changing environment
Excellent work ethic, with a strong efficiency orientation: Must be organized, detail oriented, resourceful, and adept at prioritizing and juggling multiple projects at once to meet tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate (written and oral) with all levels of management, cross-functional teams and vendors
Professional and positive demeanor
Good judgment, maintaining confidential information
