ILIA and artisan tile house clé have teamed up to celebrate creative expression through beauty and interior design.
clé’s limited edition collection of glossy brick tile was inspired by our Overglaze Hydrating Lip Gloss—which was itself inspired by the lustrous finish of ceramic glazes. With pinks, mauves, and burgundies, the collection is washed in high-shine shades that evoke the hydrating finish of lip gloss, for designs that are unexpected, vibrant, and fun.
It’s an invitation to design in color and make space for beauty.
For both ILIA and clé, artistic expression is personal. “Everything at clé comes from the arts,” says clé founder Deborah Osburn. “I am completely inspired by fashion, film, music—every part of the creative world.” Likewise, growing up with an architect father, ILIA founder Sasha Plavsic was heavily influenced by art and design. “I think it just really became a part of me over time,” she says, “It’s nice to meet a woman in another industry who is also obsessed with color and texture.”
In the Mix
Matching the color and finish of the tile to the new lip gloss shades took a lot of trial and error, but clé’s Guild Manager Eric VanderMolen was intent on getting the shades right. “We probably did 300 or so variations of the colors just to get to the right hue,” he estimates. To balance the delicate translucent color and deep sheen of the glosses, Eric continued to tinker with the formula and firing temperature.
“That’s what’s so magical about what was created,” says clé founder Deborah Osburn, “ When you look at those tiles, it is not comparable to any other tiles out there because of the way they were fired.”

In 12 ceramics-inspired shades, the long-wear gloss glides on smoothly for lips that look fuller and more plump, even after you take it off.
